Assessment Committee
Chair: Dr. Robyne Elder
Purpose and Function
The primary function of the Assessment Committee is to monitor and support the University’s campus-wide assessment program. The context for the committee’s work lies in the University’s official Assessment Statement:
The faculty, administration, and staff of 51¸£ÀûÉç are dedicated to sustaining excellent educational programs and learning environments. Therefore, we are also committed to mission-based, comprehensive, and data-driven assessment for the purpose of continuous institutional improvement and effectiveness.
The work of the committee ensures that this statement of commitment to assessing institutional effectiveness is lived out faithfully. Given this focus on institutional effectiveness, the membership of the committee is broad so that the committee can give oversight to not only the assessment of student learning but also the assessment of how well the various administrative units on campus are functioning.
