To kick off the 2024-25 touring series, the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome back Big Bad Voodoo Daddy for a show Wednesday, October 2 at 8 p.m. The band celebrated 31 years together in April and returns to the Lindenwood campus for a third consecutive year.

Since its formation in the early nineties in Ventura, California, the band has toured virtually nonstop, performing on average over 150 shows a year, and has produced a sizable catalog of recorded music, with sales of over 2 million albums to date. The band, co-founded by singer Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren, was at the forefront of the swing revival of that time, blending a vibrant fusion of the classic American sounds of jazz, swing, and dixieland, with the energy and spirit of contemporary culture.

The band's performance at the Scheidegger Center will bring together students, employees, and the St. Charles community for an evening of musical excitement and reinforces Lindenwood's place as St. Charles' university.

"We are thrilled to kick off the touring series with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy this year," Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement Orrie Covert said. "The band brings a great energy to the Scheidegger Center and we're on track for a third consecutive sell-out. I would encourage everyone to get their tickets soon, because this is a show you won't want to miss!"

Remaining tickets can be purchased online through the , over the phone by calling (636) 949-4433, or in-person at the J. Scheidegger Center box office open Tuesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

After 31 years, 11 records, over 3000 live shows, and countless appearances in film and television, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is showing no signs of slowing down and is looking forward to returning to Lindenwood's J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts in 2024.
